How you can Identify the ring binder metal Clips

Types Of Mechanisms

Non-Booster Type: These have rivet holes.

Booster type: With boosters on both sides for easy opening.

Non-Booster Type: T 3. Booster type with boosters on one sides for economy.

Booster type: With boosters on both sides for easy opening.

I have a file with a clip fitted. How do I find out the item code? And where do I find the clips that I need?

Follow these simple steps to arrive at the item code.1) The clips are made in various types:

  • P – Pull Open Types
  • B – Booster Types
  • N -These are used with backplates
  • F -These have two triggers and are fixed with rivets.

Study the sample available with you. You will know the first part of the item code P, B, N and F.

2) Measure the clip length in millimetres . Clips are made in various lengths 123 mm, 210 mm, 241 mm, 282 mm, 287 mm,
292 mm, etc.

All the measurements are on the same page. Also there is guide on how to measure. Now you know the second part of the item code.

3) The clips are made with 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, . . . 22 Rings

Study your clip and count the number of rings and write it down.4) Clips have different types of ring shape

  • Round Ring
  • D Ring
  • Angle ‘D’
  • Straight ‘D’
  • Oval

Choose the one that you need.

5) The rings have different diameters – 8 mm, 10 mm, 11 mm, 13 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm, . . .

6) Clips have base of different sizes. Base width are 15 mm, 20 mm, 26 mm. Measure the base width of the clip needed by you.
